Our Story

From one rescued cow to a movement

Yashodalay means “the abode of Yashoda” — Krishna's mother, whose boundless love for her child and his cows is our picture of what nurture truly looks like. We chose the name as a promise: to build a home where that same care reaches every cow, every hungry person and every family we serve.

Yashodalay Foundation began in 2016 with a single rescued cow named Nandini, found injured on a roadside outside Vrindavan. What started as one family's promise to nurse her back to health grew, almost by accident, into a gaushala — and then into a way of serving that others wanted to be part of.

As word spread, so did the seva. Donors asked to feed a specific cow. Neighbours asked for a warm meal. Families asked for a shradh performed with shastric care. We said yes, and we resolved to do one thing differently: to show, in numbers and in photographs, exactly what each gift made possible.

Today that promise runs through everything — gaushalas, community kitchens, Vedic Dham, special-day seva and community welfare — bound together by audited accounts and updates from the field. The movement is larger now, but the intention is unchanged: seva that nurtures, compassion that endures.
