How We Spend Your Donation — 80G, Audits and Where the Rupee Goes

Trust in a charity is earned in the details. When you give to us, your donation does not disappear into a black box — it follows a documented path from your card to a cow's fodder trough or a family's ration kit. This is how that path works, and how you can check it.
What happens after you give
Your donation is received through a secure payment partner and recorded against a cause. If you provide your PAN, an 80G tax receipt is generated and emailed to you, and you can retrieve it any time through our receipt search. The funds are then allocated to the programme you chose, or to the area of greatest need if you left it to us.
What 80G actually means for you
Because we are registered under Section 80G of the Income Tax Act, eligible donations qualify for a tax deduction. Practically, this means a portion of what you give can reduce your taxable income when you file, provided you keep the receipt we issue. We also hold 12A registration and comply with FCRA for foreign contributions.
- 80G registration — eligible donations qualify for tax deduction.
- 12A registration — recognised charitable status.
- FCRA compliance — foreign contributions are handled and reported separately.
- Independent annual audit — accounts reviewed by a chartered accountant.
How you can verify us
Every year our accounts are audited independently and the fund-utilisation summary is published in our annual report, which anyone can download. Our registration certificates are available in the downloads section. You should never have to take a charity's word for it — including ours.
The best answer to ‘can I trust you’ is ‘here are the documents, check for yourself’.
Priya Nair and the community welfare team see the other end of this rupee every day — in ration kits, health camps and children's nutrition. Reading the reports is one way to trust us; seeing the field is another.
